MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) bagged three seats and its ally Jamat-e-Islami (JI) got one seat while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) also secured one seat in the election of five women special seats.
The 41 newly elected members of AJK Legislative Assembly cast their votes in AJK Assembly lodging hall here on Friday for five special seats of women and elected their respective candidates.
As per the details, from PMLN Sehrish Qamar, Faiza Imitiaz and Nasema Wani, from JI Refat Aziz and from PPP Shazia Akber got seven votes each respectively and were declared successful. Whereas, the joint candidate of Muslim Conference and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Mehrun Nisa of got five and Nabila Irshad of JKPP got one vote and were unable to get the representation in AJK legislative Assembly.
The PPP interestingly won the one women seat despite having just three votes and got three votes from PML-N and one from Independent in their favor. Thus the strength of AJK Legislative Assembly completed with 49 seats including three unopposed reserve seats.
