PEMRA has cautioned all TV cable operators to broadcast only PEMRA licensed channels and Pakistani content instead of Indian channels illegally. A crackdown, headed by Karachi Regional Office Chief Shiraz Asghar Sheikh, has been launched against the cable operators violating these instructions by Chairman PEMRA. Various cable operators in Karachi were subjected to snap inspection. The operation team seized ten satellite receivers, two internet devices, two CPUs, six modulators and two transmitters from Korangi Bilal Colony for broadcasting illegal Indian channels and content. PEMRA has directed all cable operators to strictly abide by the stipulated rules, otherwise, action will be taken in accordance with the law.
