Rehman Malik wants fair probe in Cynthia case

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior and former interior minister Senator Rehman Malik on Monday appeared in Islamabad High Court along with his council Irfan Qadir.

He informed the court that since day one, Cynthia Ritchie has been leveling false, fabricated, and frivolous accusations against him and other politicians of the country and she also lied before the court. Irfan Qadir told the court that as a counterblast to this Qazf case, she lodged a bogus application in the Police Station Secretariat on June 17, backing off from her allegation of rape. He added that police did not register an FIR, as she could not provide any substantive evidence of her allegations so she filed a petition before court for direction to the oolice authorities to register FIR. He said court dismissed her petition after thorough investigations done by the police.

Senator Rehman Malik came on the rostrum and submitted that Cynthia Ritchie has been propagating against him but when she went to police, she withdrew her allegations of rape and accused him of harassment. He said that she fully tried to bring a bad name to him by her false accusations as she is a prefectural liar. Malik also reminded the court that she had given undertaken to this court that she will issue no statement against politician but she is continuously violating court orders by issuing statements on social and electronic media. He informed the court that not only against him but she is levelling false allegations against politicians from various political parties including PTI. He offered that though the police had already carried a thorough investigation into the matter however he can face more investigations.

While talking to media outside Islamabad High Court, Malik said that he knows very well and has all the details as who is giving money to Cynthia and who is behind her. “I will expose everyone, let justice be dispensed,” he said, adding that he was exonerated from all these fake allegations by police and court. “I believe in Almighty Allah, I want justice from Allah, I want this investigation neat and clear,” he added.
