Automation at its best

LAHORE: Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) has successfully conducted the entrance test for BS program in an automated way without a single mistake.

On July 24, 2016, the PUCIT held entrance test for BS programs with a host of different question papers in which around 11000 candidates appeared. From enrolment to grading, everything was done using an online system, which helped in grading the result on the same day that in itself was nothing less than an achievement. Moreover, the overall test took place without a mistake showing that the test had been conducted impeccably and had not been leaked out.

It is pertinent to mention here that this is not for the first time that PUCIT has conducted the entrance test successfully at such a mega level in a digitized way. In 2014, around 14000 students appeared in the test for BS programs. In 2014, 65 applicants applied for rechecking of their answer sheets and not a single error was found in the grading system.

Normally, the quality of entrance tests taken all over Pakistan gets compromised because of cheating and other breach of rules. In the face of all these problems, automation of examination systems is the best solution. In this regard, the precedent set by PUCIT should serve as a role model for all other institutes in order to uphold merit in admissions.
