KARACHI: One of the suspects who attacked a vehicle carrying two Pakistan Army personnel has been identified on Monday through a video recorded on a mobile phone.

At least two security personnel were killed on July 26 when unidentified assailants fired on their vehicle near Parking Plaza in Saddar, Karachi. One of them died on the spot whereas the other succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Police said that the soldiers were patrolling a crowded area of the city when their vehicle was attacked. “The militants were riding a motorcycle and managed to escape through the congested narrow lanes,” senior police officer Raja Umar Khattab said.

The suspect whose face has been identified was dressed in black clothes together with a black helmet and black gloves, just like one of the assailants in the initial CCTV footage of the incident, the police said.
