MULTAN: Multan Deputy Commissioner Nadir Chatha said on Wednesday that security would be on red alert to maintain law and order during Youm-e-Ali on Ramazan 21.

Presiding over a meeting to review arrangements for Youm-e-Ali on Wednesday, he said orders have been given to all the departments concerned to complete all arrangements before Youm-e-Ali.

“There is an exemplary peace among all schools of thought in Multan. Foolproof security arrangements and cleanliness will be ensured at all Imambargahs and mourning procession routes,” he said. He said special security plan would be issued by the police.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Multan Naveedul Haq Arrain said Municipal Corporation would ensure exemplary arrangements, while Chairman District Council Deewan Abbas Bukhari said staff of district council would perform duties at routes of mourning processions during Youm-e-Ali.
