BAHAWALPUR: The city Police has claimed that a notorious bandit who was wanted by police of three districts was killed on Wednesday when his accomplices opened fire to rescue him from police custody in Hasilpur area.
Police said Mumtaz ali as Mati was wanted by police of three districts including Bahawalpur, Wihari and Sialkot in heinous crimes including murder, robbery and others.
Police took Mumtaz to a place where he had hid stolen goods and weapons.
In the meantime, Mumtaz’s four accomplices riding two motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire at police vehicle in Mor Chak in order to get Mumtaz free from the police custody.
Mumtaz received bullet injuries in exchange of fire with his accomplices.
