The restriction has been imposed on pillion riding for 3 days at Federal Capital Islamabad, to maintain peace and order in Muharram-ul-Haram. The restrictions will come into force from Muharram 8 to Muharram 10 to ensure the enforcement of peace and order in the city. The notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat stated, the arrangements has been finalized to maintain the security and smooth flow of traffic during procession of Muharram in twin cities Rawalpindi Islamabad, in which the SOPs adopted during corona were taken into consideration. More than 600 traffic police officers will be deployed to maintain the flow of traffic in the city, whereas it has been requested to Ullema Ikram to perform their role in promoting religious tolerance and execution of SOPs regarding corona during Ashura. According to the notification the decision has been taken to ban pillion riding on motorcycles in the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram from Muharram 8 till Muharram 10, so that no unpleasant incident occurs. During the restriction women, patients, journalists and persons more than 50 years old will be free from the restriction, whereas it is mandatory for the citizens aged 18 or more to keep their identity cards.
