ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has dissolved the organizational set up of AJK PPP in the wake of humiliating defeat in recently held AJK Legislative Assembly (LA Polls.

Bilawal, earlier sought resign from former Prime Minister (PM) AJK Chaudhry Abdul Majid following the crushing defeat in the polls and now he has dissolved all the organizations of PPP’s AJK chapter. Sources told Daily Times that President PPP-AJK, Chaudhry Abdul Majid , Secretary General Latif Akbar and others have remained no more office bearers.

Sources said that Chaudhry Yasin has been nominated as opposition leader by PPP in AJK Legislative Assembly.

Bilawal Bhutto has reprimanded PPP- AJK leadership for keeping the central leadership in dark about pre-poll political situation in AJK and then he dissolved all the organizations of the party in AJK.

Sources disclosed that Chaudhry Abdul Majid, Chaudhry Riaz and their entire team had assured PPP central leadership that party would win 8 to 10 seats in the polls and if Bilawal undertakes visits of AJK then the number of seats can rise to 15. But the facts proved otherwise.

The 5-year tenure of PPP led government disappointed highly to PPP activists and ideological workers in AJK. Chaudhry Abdul Majid, Chaudhry Riaz and their team showered favours on their blue eyed boys during their stay in government which caused damage to party reputation. In this situation PPP graph plunged to record low so much so that it could win only 3 seats despite Bilawal hurricane visits to AJK.

The central leadership of PPP has expressed grave concern over it and decided to bring about massive changes in organizational set up.

Party leadership has started considering 3 names to lead party in AJK. These names include Chaudhry Yasin, Sardar Qamar Zaman and Faisal Rathore.

Sources said that matter of wrong distribution of tickets in Kashmir council polls was also discussed. Chaudhry Abdul Majid and other leadership of AJK PPP trampled the norms of merit in this regard and awarded tickets to their favourites. It came to light that party tickets were sold out on highest biddings.

The responsibility for worst defeat of PPP in AJK LA polls was placed on Chaudhry Abdul Majid, party organizer Raja Pervez Ashraf and General Secretary AJK PPP Chaudhry Latif Akbar. Chaudhry Abdul Majid visited only one or two constituencies during election campaign. Party Organizer Raja Pervez Ashraf did not visit even a single constituency.

Bilawal Bhutto also expressed annoyance over supporting PML-N candidate in Bhimber rather than party candidate.
