11 Pakistanis killed, 613 infected by coronavirus

At least 11 Pakistanis have been killed in last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has reached to 290,445. The nationwide tally of fatalities has reached to 6,201. According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 613 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours. According to reports, 126,743 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 95,742 in Punjab, 35,401 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,412 in Islamabad, 12,370 in Balochistan, 2,212 in Azad Kashmir and 2,565 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Moreover, 2,336 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Sindh, 2,186 in Punjab, 1,242 in KP, 139 in Balochistan, 175 in Islamabad, 62 in GB and 61 in Azad Kashmir. Pakistan has so far conducted 2,340,072 coronavirus tests and 22,859 in last 24 hours. 272,128 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 743 patients are in critical condition. As many as 130 patients are on ventilator throughout the country and there are 1920 corona ventilators present in hospitals. There are 735 hospitals in which facilities for corona patients are available in which 1241 patients are admitted in hospitals.

India reported a record daily jump of 69,652 coronavirus infections, taking the total number of cases to 2.84 million. Brazil reported 49,298 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 1,212 deaths from the disease caused by the virus in the past 24 hours. Sindh has reported 321 coronavirus cases and eight more deaths during the last 24 hours, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. In a statement, he said 11,167 tests were conducted during this period. With the new cases, the provincial total has risen to 127,381 while the death toll is 2,350.

Punjab has recorded 58 new infections in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally of cases to 95,800, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal. It has reported no additional fatalities from the virus. The provincial death toll stands at 2,186 while more than 90,200 people have recovered so far. Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have collectively reported 38 new coronavirus cases while GB has confirmed one additional fatality. According to the government’s database on coronavirus, 13 new cases were reported in Islamabad, 18 in GB and seven in AJK. Another 676 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Pakistan, according to the government’s database on coronavirus. This has taken the total number of recoveries to 272,804. The database shows that 725 virus patients are in critical condition.
