Muharram moon sighted, Youm-e-Ashur on August 30

The moon for the month of Muharram-ul-Haram has been sighted, Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced on Thursday evening. The holy month of Muharram will begin on August 21, Mufti Muneeb said after he chaired a meeting in Karachi. Consequently, Youm-e-Ashur would be observed on August 30. The Pakistan Meteorological Department had already said that there is a good chance of moon sighting of Muharram-ul-Haram on August 20 (Thursday). The PMD, in a statement, had said that the new moon of Muharram, 1442 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 07:42 PST on August 19.
