Polio vaccination resumes in Tirah

ISLAMABAD: Polio drops were administered to children below the age of 5 years in Takhtaki area of Tirah Valley after a gap of eight years. According to Polio Monitoring Cell, 67 children from 36 houses in the area were administered polio drops in the three-day campaign, while 25 polio workers participated in the campaign. Pakistan and Afghanistan are the only two countries in the world where polio is still categorised as endemic viral infection.
