Behavioral evolution in Pakistan

Author: Amima Rafique

Contemporary world of 21st century symbolizes human excellence. Counting down from inventions of lowest-resolution cameras proceeding to the smart time-machine bombs, humans have struggled, and therefore entered an era neither experienced nor ever heard of alike before. This new era although brought modernized gadgets like Wi-Fi-routers, social networking sites, YouTube, mobile phones and other machinery etc. to humans’ access, yet has failed to convince humans to contribute an equal amount of evolution in terms of their behaviors while using such gadgets to achieve success.

Pakistan, being a third world country holds multitude of unresolved social, psychological, economic and political disparities where its recognition as “top porn-watching country” and “top depressed country” in the world adds fuel to the fire of pre-existing miseries. According to recent researches, more than 65% of Pakistan’s population is dependent and sits spare; burdening 35% of the active population, that struggles all day long hardly to win bread out of their earnings. According to Abraham Lincoln, the great moralist and constitutionalist; employment for a soul is as necessary as exercise for the body, thus the dependent population besides decreasing a country’s meagre resources also messes up with its psychological, social and physical well-being. Pakistan is lagging behind not only because of countless domestic issues, but is also falling prey to this modern, Informational and technological war. We need growth-mindsets to counter-attack in order to succeed in this virtual war, rather than frustrated-loser mindsets which easily get attacked by the wrath of wrong technological usage. And for a growth mindset, a national evolution of Pakistan’s behavioral stature is currently a high-time necessity.

By the inadequate usage of modern products, humanity is not only losing its distinct-instinctual characteristics like: helping each other, being empathetic and honest, talking good about others and building meaningful relationships but is also getting hunted by numerous physical and psycho-social issues at the same time. Be it the cover of latest fashion-magazines or damage to eyes due to excessive exposure to screens, be it the so-called beauty categories set by models commercializing fake fairness products, or be it the lame auto-altering filters fixed in smart-cameras of latest mobile phones, or be it the 24/7 access to the artificial world of glamour, fashion, lust and diplomacy; all of these modernizations are dragging humans to verge of multiple crises, in totality. Due to inferiority complexes, depression disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, identity crises and many other existing psychological issues, 80% population across Pakistan is already psychologically not fit like many other third world countries, due to numerous factors. Other deep rooted-issues which are getting inherited from one to another generation, due to high illiteracy rate in the country and additional upcoming challenges indicate their unending and potential life span existing between us. How offended would you feel if by using modern gadgets someone body shames you? Or depersonalizes all your personal information, photos or videos etc.? New machinery has decayed humanity to tignes especially in Pakistan where, the virtual control-systems are still not sorted-out yet all the illegal acts are being carried out below the belt, under the nose of law administrating and constituting agencies. Where would this naïve ride of modern-mechanization take us and the advanced world of human-excellence? Is there any gap between us and those individuals who attained absolute success in current time? And what are actually those sinister realities, on the bases of which we, as a nation lag behind?

Evolution in behavioral stature is the requirement of the hour, especially for Pakistan

Evolution in behavioral stature is the requirement of the hour, especially for Pakistan. Masses, around the globe are suffering not because of the culminating mechanizations; but by their own lacking interest in adaptability. Mistrust, dishonesty, lying and show-off are a few of many dilemmas which have contaminated human’s instinct here. What can be more unfortunate for mankind, when students are not safe from their mentors, when the followers are blood-thirsty for their own leaders, when children are fearful of their own parents and when residents of an area are threatened by their own neighbors? Paying heed to negative emotions which are a product of frequent usage of automated-technology in day to day life, is the need of the time. Love, here, is not treated as love anymore. In this world of artificiality, beauty is attained by filters these days. Modernized relationships are built and broken-up on Whatsapp within a short time span: hardly of seconds and above all, are meditations here getting carried-out with 149 and others. So there is no place for genuine humanity, in the current age which again is a crystal clear indication of the demand in behavioral modification.

Mechanizations have developed modern-machine obsessions in individuals, making them less humans and more-robotic. There is absolutely, no place at all to acknowledge and understand basic human values and their moral attributes. Because humans are surrounded by machines, and this proximity is so new for the people of this country amidst all unending troubles, hence are being as too far granted, while modernization in this region of the world called, Pakistan is touching the horizon of social, psychological and physical paralysis of inhabitants. Apart from the inventors, excellence must be offered to the lay-users so that their health might not get tempered in any aspect, after using them. In addition to this, the global conservationists also need to ensure sustainable human-usage of machinery in the so-called name of modernization so that the deteriorating world of under-developed and developing countries could be saved from an ultimately due destruction.
