University of Sargodha celebrated 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan with full patriotic zeal, fervor and a renewed pledge to safeguard the motherland against any threat and hope for love and peace to follow.
On this auspicious occasion, a flag hoisting ceremony was convened. The Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad hoisted the National Flag while the university security guards conducted the guard of honor by marching towards the flag of Pakistan.
The music society of Sargodha University released “Tera Karam Mola” in connection with the Independence celebrations and to pay tribute to the National legend ‘Junaid Jamshaid’.
Addressing the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad said “We have Pakistan, the Almighty Allah’s gift and this day should be celebrated in full vigor as it is our reference point which commemorates the day when we got independence after rendering so many sacrifices.”
He urged to stay united in order to meet all the challenges that are being faced by Pakistan. We must make our future resolution to turn this country into a prosperous, ever-growing and internally as well as externally strong state, he added.
The Vice Chancellor remarked that we should raise voice against the Human Rights violations made by Fascist BJP government not only in Indian Occupied Kashmir but in India as well, where all the minorities including Muslims are living hard.
On the Occasion, Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum of the University organized a virtual conference in which Heads of various Departments discussed the immense sacrifices given for the creation of Pakistan. With grace of God, the undaunted spirit which guided the whole nation under dynamic leadership of Jinnah survived to enable us to wade through trying times and within years, the nation overcame its challenges, the participants expressed.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the university buildings had been illuminated and the campus was decorated with Pakistani flags, and lights.
