5 dead, several injured in Chitral hotel balcony collapse

Five people were killed and 10 injured after a hotel balcony in Chitral collapsed on Thursday morning.

Seventeen people, including children, were standing on the third-floor balcony when it collapsed. The hotel management is pinning the blame on too many people standing on the balcony.

Two of the injured persons died at the DHQ Hospital. They were a married couple.

The dead included three women and a man out of them one was a couple, two of them are in critical condition. The dead bodies and the injured were shifted to Rawalpindi on the Pak Army helicopter. police said to “DailyTimes”.

The injured were rushed to District Head Quarter (DHQ) hospital by Rescue 1122  and Al-Khidmat Foundation volunteers for first aid some of the Injured people were in critical condition. Police further said that a group of more than fifteen people, four families belonged to Panjab District Kasur, and had booked four rooms at the hotel.
