PESHAWAR: The Adviser to the Prime Minister, Amir Muqam, on Sunday said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rejected the “Dharna” politics of Imran Khan and wanted a solution of their problems as promised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) during the general elections.

He said this while addressing a public gathering at Dalazak Road in Peshawar. Amir Muqam said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had always believed in serving the people rather than engaging them in “Dharna” politics. “We did not want to waste your valuable time rather we want to serve you,” Amir Muqam added.

He said Imran did not want “Ehtisab” rather he wanted to become the prime minister, adding that we welcomed Imran when he announced the forming of the Ehtisab Commission but when the former DG started an investigation against bigwigs in the province his powers were curtailed ultimately compelling him to resign.

He disclosed that former Chief Secretary, Arbab Shehzad, had prepared a charge sheet against the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the PTI kept mum over the allegations. He recalled that one of the PTI MNAs, Murad Saeed, had a fake degree from the University of Peshawar but no inquiry was conducted against him by the party. He said corruption amounting to millions of rupees surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but Imran Khan lacked the courage to take action against his own party members running the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He suggested the PTI chief to start accountability from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rather than chanting hollow slogans. The adviser to the prime minister said serving the masses was the mission of the PML-N and it would be continued without any lapse. Amir Muqam said that the PML-N led federal government had taken a number of welfare measures to improve the living standards of the deprived segments of the society. He urged Imran Khan to stop making fools of the innocent public as the PML-N did not play politics for power but to wanted to serve the masses. On the occasion, former Senator Idrees Khan announced to join the PML-N. The public meeting was also attended by Provincial Senior Vice President, Javed Zafar Jhagra, MNA Dr Ibadullah, Provincial Secretary Information Nasir Musazai, President PML-N Peshawar chapter, Abid Hussain Jan and other local leaders.
