Once again Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan has demand for a separate province after the city suffered damages due to heavy monsoon rains.
A debate has also been ongoing on social media regarding making Karachi a separate province after the worst situation of heavy rain.
“We have been tired of bad governance in Karachi and nothing being done to sort out the civic issues “, said senior deputy convenor of the MQM-P
According to the MQM-P leader the issues faced by a mega city like Karachi could not be resolved in this budget.
“Karachi has been destroyed but the Peoples Party has not been demonstrating seriousness,” MQM-P leader Amir Khan lamented yesterday while talking to media.
He demanded that all mayors in Sindh be empowered in order to resolve public issues.
“It is not wrong for the people of Karachi to ask for a separate province under the present circumstances.” he said
The PPP government in Sindh has always been interested in corruption, he alleged adding that a permanent solution to Karachi’s issues could not be found, until these issues were not taken seriously.
On other hand CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah replied to a journalist’s question about the reports pertaining to Karachi, Shah said such comments were made by “politically immature” people and political “orphans”.
While a reporter asked the chief minister about his thoughts on the statements from a federal minister and some other responsible individuals that Karachi would be made a federally-administered territory under Article 149 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah advised the media reporters not to take politically immature and political orphans seriously, the chief minister added that such statements were beyond comprehension.
Talking about separate province GDA Senior Leader Irfan Ullha Khan Marwat said that who talk about partition of Sindh want to achieve their political goals and nothing else.
He cleared that Karachi is a city of Sindh province adding that “I strongly condemn the statement of Aamir Khan”. “We have an alliance with MQM but we are not with them when it comes to partition of Sindh,” Murwat said As per media reports rainwater flooded homes in many areas of the city causing the residents losses worth millions of rupees.
