UoG extends admission deadline amid lockdown to curb pandemic

Author: News Desk

The University of Gujrat (UoG) has extended the deadline for its ongoing admissions to various undergraduate degree programmes and courses by August 13, 2020. The announcement came at the end of a meeting of senior faculty and administration officials here at Hafiz Hayat Campus late on Tuesday as the province was witnessing a smart lockdown with Eidul Azha at the corner and the danger of the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic still lurking in the shadows.

A senior UoG official said the decision had been made to facilitate students from far-flung areas of the country, and in response to calls from various quarters, parents and students. The decision applies to the ongoing Semester Fall-2020 admissions at Hafiz Hayat Campus and all sub-campuses of the varsity.

According to the revised schedule, the last date to submit an online admission application is Thursday, August 13, 2020. However, students must submit hard copies of their online applications along with other documents to the department concerned within the stipulated period to complete the application procedure. Students who do not submit hard copies of their application will not be considered for admission, the official said. As per new schedule, the first merit list will be announced on Monday, September 7, 2020.

Barring a few reserved seats, the admissions will be on an open merit basis. Candidates applying for the reserved regional quota seats must submit the required documents along with their applications to be considered eligible. A link is available on UoG website <www.uog.edu.pk> for the students to download the admission form and get the details of UoG Admission Policy 2020. Intermediate students awaiting their second-year results can apply for admission on the basis of their first-year results.

The processing fee for admission applications should be deposited through a computerized challan form at either of the banks’ branches at Hafiz Hayat Campus. However, those visiting the campus for admission purposes must be in full protective gear, in compliance with the SOPs issued by the authorities to check the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.
