KARACHI: Many former ministers, Advisors, and special Assistant to CM, Retired Officers and government officers have assigned for themselves more than one vehicle each since 2013; the Daily Times has learnt.
According to the list, several former and present Ministers, Advisors, and special Assistant to CM, Retired Officers, OSD and ex-officers of SGA&CD have gotten hold of more than one government vehicle each since long and never returned them even after leaving their posts. CM’s Advisor Barister Murtaza Wahab has two vehicles at his disposal No. GS-7897 Toyota Corolla Gli-2009, Fourtuner- AT-2015 vehicle No. GSC-651.
Several former and incumbent Ministers and Advisors have also obtained two government vehicles, including Gian Chand using two government vehicles No. GSB-874 Toyota Corolla XLI 2014 and vehicle No. GSD-555 Toyota Corolla XLI 2015. Minister Nisar Ahmed Khoro has two vehicles at his disposal No. GSA-209 Toyota Corolla Xli 2011 and GSB-793 Toyota Fortuner 2014. Minister Jam Mehtab Khan Dahar has got two vehicles No. GSB-585 Toyota and GSB-685 Toyota Fortuner 2014. Minister Ali Nawaz Khan Mahar has two vehicles No. GSC-579 Toyota Fortunur 2.7 LAT Black 2015 and GSA-074 Toyota Corolla Xli 2011.
Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has also got two vehicles No. GSB-007 Toyota Corolla Xli-12 and another AFR-2016 Toyota Corolla-2016. Former Minister Asghar Ali Junejo has occupied two vehicles GSA-098 Toyota Corolla Xli 2011 and GSA-099 Toyota Corolla Xli 2011. Abdul Kabir Kazi, Ex-Secretary General Administration and now retired, has been occupying three government vehicles Nos. GS-5764 a Toyota-Double Cabin 2007, GSB-869 Toyota-Corolla 2014 and GS-6935 T/Corolla Xli 2003.
Former Advisor/Special Assistant to ex-CM Akhtar Hussain Jadoon has still occupied two vehicles No. GS-7924 Kia Sportage 2005, and GS-7966 Toyota Corolla Xli 2004. Former Advisor/Special Assistant to ex-CM Yousuf Ibrahim Mastoi still has two vehicles at his disposal No. GS-8515 Toyota Corolla Xli 2010 and GSC-877 Toyota Corolla-2016.
Former Coordinator and Consultant to CM Sajid Ali Bhahban, has also occupied two vehicles No. GSC-679 Toyota-Corolla Xli-2016 and GS-6934 Toyota Corolla Indus 2001. Syed Asif Hyder Shah, Ex-Commissioner Karachi has been occupying two vehicles No. GSB-007 Toyota-Corolla Xli-2012 and AFR-2016 Toyota Corolla-2016.
Ex-Officers of SGA&CD (Retired) Ghulam Mohiuddin, Supt CTC has occupied two vehicles No. GS-5442 Toyota-Corolla XLI-08 and GS-9979 Toyota Corolla Xli 2008. Riaz Sahito, Ex-DS (B&A) two vehicles No. GS-7257 Toyota Corolla Xli 2009 and GS-0264 Suzuki-Cultus-2003.
Dr. Dabeer Ahmed, Ex-DG Protocol also occupied two vehicles No. GSA-088 Toytoa Corolla Xli 2011 and GS-0635 Suzuki-Khyber 1995. Ahmed Bux Narejo, Ex-OSD occupied two vehicles No. GS-6573 Toyota Corolla Xli 2007 and GSA-069 Toyota Corolla Xli 2011.
According to sources many retired officers have also occupied two vehicles; among them are Mumtaz ur Rehman, Ex-Secretary GA, two vehicles No. GS-7315 Toyota Corolla 2003 and GS-4926 Toyota Corolla Xeg 2001. Shahid Gulzar OSD (BS-21) and retired in 2016 have been issued two vehicles No. GS-6158 Toyota Corolla Xli 2006, GSA-205 mentioned with Private No. AZK-057 Toyota Corolla Xli-2012 and others Raisuddin Paracha, PPS Comm, Dr. Badar Shaikh, DS (Cabinet), Ms. Uzma Ismail, DS (O&M) and Mumtaz-Ur-Rehman, Ex-Secy GA are in the list those who have acquired minimum of two unauthorized government vehicles for over a half decade, sources revealed.
Secretary General Administration (GA) Sajid Jamal Abro told Daily Times that after inventory mechanism and computerized record of every related missing or unauthorized allocated government vehicle , they are being retrieved from unauthorized concerned departments.
The letters have been written to the 34 concerned departments for recovery of vehicles and the matter has been discussed with the Chief Secretary Sindh and Chief Minister Sindh who have ordered for lodging FIR’s against the concerned persons if vehicles are not returned.
