LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) organised a political convention of opposition parties to jointly address the media regarding the proceedings of Panama Case. Chairman Dr Tahir Ul Qadri hosted an Iftar-dinner in Faletti’s hotel on Thursday. Dr Qadri while addressing the media said that the premier’s speech before the media after the investigation by Joint Investigation Team (JIT) didn’t address the issue of Panama leaks; it’s rather a warning to those who are investigating the matter.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad revealed that opposition parties may form a possible ‘grand alliance’ against the corrupt government after Eid-Ul-Fitr. Present alongside were representatives of Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Pak Sarzameen Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and other leaders of opposition parties.

While addressing the media, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad also blamed Nawaz Sharrif for ‘tax evasion’; he said “While I was in PTV our driver gave more tax then Nawaz Sharif who gave mere 5000 rupees in tax returns”. Dr. Qadri also recalled the ‘Model town case’ and stated that 100 innocent people seek justice.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before the JIT and after a three hour long investigation, he addressed the media and stressed that “We will not let the wheel of history turn in opposite direction. The days of games behind the scenes are now over. There can be no more puppet games anymore.”
