KOHAT: In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city, the deputy commissioner imposed Section 144 of the CrPC and issued a new traffic plan. The DC declared Peshawar Chowk to Bannu Gate Chowk route as a red zone area for traffic and prohibited the entry of some passenger vehicles for a period of 30 days. However, passenger vehicles having specific stickers would be allowed to entry and exit the zone. Vehicles having white stickers would be allowed to pick and drop passengers in the red zone. Red and blue stickers are for vehicles of Bannu and Pindi Road, which would be allowed to pick and drop passengers from the Old Adda (bus stand), but cannot enter the red zone. Similarly, vehicles (of Hangu Road) with orange stickers would operate in the Old Mall Mandi Adda and would not be allowed in the red zone. Likewise, green stickers are for vehicles which would be strictly banned in the red zone. Only ambulances and school vehicles would be exempted from the above order. The violators would be punished under Section 188, said a notification issued on Wednesday.
