Lawyers observe strike to mourn Quetta victims

LAHORE: Lawyers on Wednesday observed a strike to mourn the victims of suicide blast in Civil Hospital, Quetta. The lawyers, wearing black armbands, appeared before the courts only in urgent nature cases. Black flags were also hoisted in the bar premises. The lawyers said the government should take practical steps to eliminate the menace of terrorism. The proceedings at all courts remained suspended for third consecutive day to lodge protest against the killing of lawyers, journalists and people from general public. A delegation of Lahore High Court Bar Association, led by its President Rana Zia Abdul Rehman and former presidents Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari and Ch Abdul Waheed Gujjar, left for Quetta to express grief over the tragic incident and show solidarity with the families of martyrs and wounded persons.
