LAHORE: The book launching ceremony of Women In Green & Beyond by Mahwash Rehman, supported by the Bilquis & Abdul Razak Dawood (BARD) Foundation was held at the Lahore Museum on Tuesday.

One of Pakistan’s leading independent publishers, Markings launched the book.

The book pays homage to the extraordinary women’s cricket team of Pakistan by documenting the team’s journey over a period of six years. What initially started as a thesis project by photographer Mahwash Rehman at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, was translated into filming these women cricketers, all through Rehman’s lens.

During the ceremony, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan participated as chief guest. On the occasion, Pakistan women cricket team, BARD Foundation Chairman Abdul Razak Dawood, LUMS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr S Sohail H Naqvi, Kamran Lashari and Markings Publishing CEO Kiran Aman were present. Women In Green & Beyond features a foreword by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. All the photography for Women In Green has been done by Rehman with the book layout and design by Amber Arshad at Markings along with cricket team profiles written by Hadeel Obaid.
