RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has informed the district administration that it would conduct its rally in Rawalpindi on August 13.

Sources told that the PTI representatives wrote a letter to the district administration, informing them of the party’s rally on August 13. PTI Chief Imran Khan himself would lead the rally, like he did in Peshawar on August 7.

The letter was written by PTI’s lawmaker Raja Rashid Hafeez to the Rawalpindi DCO, informing him of the party’s intention to conduct its rally on the said date and the route that would be taken. As per the letter, the rally would commence from Mareer Chowk in Rawalpindi and would conclude at Islamabad.

The district administration has been asked to provide security to the participants of the rally and also devise a traffic plan. Imran had announced a series of protest rallies against the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif-led federal government.

His series of rallies would end with one at Lahore. He denounced PM Nawaz’s reluctance to hold himself and the Sharif family accountable in connection with the allegations contained in the Panama Papers.
