The anti-graft agency claimed that Zardari had constructed his residence in Karachi’s Clifton with ill-gotten money as Rs15 crore for the project was paid from the bank account of a PPP leader’s stenographer.
Zardari has failed to provide evidence of paying money for the said residence by himself, the bureau added.
The bureau further said that the stenographer, Mushtaq, had accompanied the former president on 104 foreign visits. It said that Mushtaq escaped when he was approached by the bureau for interrogation.
Moreover, NAB has requested the court to freeze Zardari’s Clifton house till completion of inquiry against him.
