Dubai welcomes the region’s first female public bus drivers

The Road and Transport Authority in Dubai has announced that it has hired three women as bus drivers on various routes in the state.

According to the details, the authority has clarified that the women who have been recruited meet the high standards of driving regulations and standards in the UAE after the training.

Three women have been hired as bus drivers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a move aimed at providing opportunities for women in the transport sector.

The profession is a male-dominated one in the region. More women public drivers are expected to be hired in the near future.

Dubai officials say three women have initially been recruited to provide opportunities for women in the bus driver sector and create a balance in the sector.

The first phase of this project has been started with the appointment of 3 drivers who have been given permission by the authority to run on 3 routes, this project will be further expanded.
