CM Buzdar orders authorities to ensure sale of flour at fixed rates

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the food department and the administration to take every step for ensuring the sale of flour at a fixed rate within 24 hours. He made it clear that hoarders will not be allowed to exploit the people and sale of flour at an excessive rate will not be allowed. Action will be initiated against those involved in overcharging, he warned. I will not tolerate any delay in the provision of flour bags to the people at a fixed rate after the release of government wheat to flour mills, he stated. The CM further directed that government decisions should be strictly implemented and administrative machinery should fulfil its responsibility against hoarders by going out in the field and taking stock of the situation at the grassroots.

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar met with Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch. Pervaiz Elahi at Punjab Assembly here on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interest. Both agreed to jointly counter the propagandists adding that the journey of public service will be moved forward with accelerated speed.

Usman Buzdar said that critics will be left behind and the new Pakistan will continue to move forward under the leadership of PM Imran Khan. He regretted that the critics have engaged in propaganda with a specific agenda while the best relationship exists with PML-Q in Punjab.

Speaker Ch. Pervaiz Elahi stated that designs of those fascinating about differences will not be fulfilled. The province was despoiled and it was bankrupted due to the wrong policies of the past government. The common man has faced the consequences of delay in public welfare projects, he regretted. He continued that present tenure belongs to the people.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Speaker Ch. Pervaiz Elahi chaired a meeting at assembly to review progress made on the project of MPAs’ hostel and new Punjab Assembly building. The CM directed to early complete the new Punjab Assembly building and gave the deadline of the end of September for completing the work of the new assembly building. He said that there is no justification of delay despite the availability of funds. He expressed indignation over failure in completing the work within the stipulated period and directed that the backlog should be filled with continuous hard work.

Ch. Pervaiz Elahi appreciated the support of CM Punjab with regard to the construction of new assembly building and hostel. The past rulers willingly delayed the new building project which resulted in wastage of public money and construct cost was also increased. A gap has occurred due to a coronavirus outbreak but there is a need to move forward this project with further speed, he added. The meeting was told the ceiling’s minakari will be completed by the end of July while the masque will be opened in August. The MPAs hostel’s basement will accommodate 600 vehicles.

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a meeting at CM Office in which recommendations with regard to ascertain priorities of development projects of the health department came under review. Steps being taken to curb the spread of corona pandemic and arrangements being taken for the treatment of patients in hospitals were also reviewed during the meeting. Usman Buzdar while addressing the participants in the meeting emphasized that we have put our foremost focus on the improvement of health department in Punjab and significant increase has been made in the health budget in the coming fiscal year. He disclosed that five mother & child hospitals are being constructed in Punjab including Lahore. He directed that the priorities of health department should be ascertained keeping in view the needs of the masses and provision of best health facilities should be ensured in the deprived and backward areas of Punjab. CM emphasized that Punjab government by undertaking effective measures has curbed the spread of corona pandemic to a great extent and added that 51450/ patients have been recovered from coronavirus up till 9th July in Punjab. Usman Buzdar apprised that five lac 64 thousand and 893 record corona tests have been conducted in Punjab and 9587 corona tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours. He highlighted that the total number of corona patients in Punjab is 84587 and 988 new corona patients have come to surface in the past 24 hours while 26 persons passed away due to corona pandemic.

Provincial Minister for Disaster Management Mian Khalid Mehmood called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and briefed him about the arrangements made for combating possible flood.

The CM directed that districts’ emergency plans should be devised and PDMA should ensure effective arrangements. I am visiting various districts to review the flood-related arrangements, he added. PDMA’s arrangements will also be monitored. He directed district committees should be reactivated and regular meetings be held to review the field situation. He further directed that the weather situation should be shared by PDMA with the line departments and an early flood warning system should be kept fully activated. Similarly, people should be kept informed about weather and the situation of rivers’ water through social media and other means of communication, he added. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a report from CCPO Lahore about an incident of girl’s molestation in the Staff Colony area of Satukatla and directed to provide best treatment facilities to the girl child. She will be provided justice at every cost, he added. Meanwhile, a case has been registered and police have arrested the criminal.
