The official sources claimed Eidul Azha is likely to be on Friday (July 31) this year and it has been decided to implement SOPs amid three holidays including Eid day (Friday) and on Saturday and Sunday to prevent coronavirus spread. “No additional holidays will be given to prevent unnecessary travelling that may cause the spread of COVID-19,” the government sources claimed. Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday advised the countrymen to exercise extra caution during the preparations for upcoming Eidul Azha to avert a resurgence of coronavirus as the curve was on flattening trend in the country. “I appeal to my people not to do again what they did on previous Eid (Eidul Fitr). Any public gathering reasons the spread of the virus and puts pressure on hospitals, doctors and nurses besides causing deaths,” the prime minister remarked talking to media persons after inaugurating the first-ever Isolation Hospital and Infections Treatment Centre in Islamabad.
