RIO DE JANEIRO: Brady Ellison won the bronze 6-2 against Netherlands’ Sjef van den Berg, while South Korea’s Ku Bon-chan took home the gold.
Olympic archer Brady Ellison, who has generated buzz on social media for his resemblance to Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, took home the bronze medal in the men’s individual archery competition on Friday.
Ellison lost out on the gold to South Korea’s Ku Bon-chan, but came in third against Netherlands’ Sjef van den Berg at a score of 6-2.
Friday’s win marked Ellison’s second in Rio. He previously led the US men’s archery team to a silver-medal finish in the team competition on Aug. 6.
Twitter users congratulated Ellison on his medals while simultaneously cracking jokes about his similarities to DiCaprio.
“I’ve had it told to me before, even when I was younger,” Ellison has told the Associated Press about being dubbed the actor’s doppelganger. “I personally don’t see a huge resemblance, maybe besides the facial hair. He is a good-looking dude, so I guess it’s a compliment.”
