CADD minister misuses authority at Polyclinic

ISLAMABAD: The State Minister CADD, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, misused his authority by passing orders against an innocent medical officer who was attending the patients at Polyclinic Hospital.

According to details, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry visited the emergency and found that the in charge emergency, Dr Durdana Kazmi, along with other medical officers, was absent from duty that enraged the minister but instead of suspending Dr Durdana , he suspended her assistant, Dr Habibur Rehman.

The state minister should have suspended the in charge of emergency, Dr Durdana Kazmi, but the orders were passed against her subordinate doctor and she allegedly saved herself by using her political clout, sources said.

The duty roster shows that the in charge of emergency is Dr Durdana Kazmi and Dr. Habib is her subordinate. While talking to Daily Times, the Executive Director Polyclinic, Iftikhar Ahmed Naru, said that the in charge of emergency was Dr. Habib not Dr. Durdana. However, the documents reveal the truth.

The minister ignored the negligence of his blue-eyed medical officers at Polyclinic Hospital and dismissed an assistant doctor of the emergency department.

According to the press release, issued on May 11 stated that “the Minister CADD dismissed the in charge Emergency, Doctor Habibur Rehman,” however the official letter of transfer available with Daily Times stated that “Dr. Habibur Rehman was transferred from the surgical department and posted to the casualty department as CCMA.

He will also assist ‘Dr. Durdana Kazmi, medical officer in charge’ MLC section, in medical-legal cases,” starting from May 3 this year.

This discrimination of the CADD minister shows the incredulity that the concerned minister dismissed the assistant of the MLC on a surprise round of the Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH but) not the in charge.

It may be mentioned here that the Minister CADD dismissed the officials in the regard of absence in the emergency department on August 11th , this year.

It is also pertinent to mention here that Dr Durdana remained as the in charge of the dispensary at the Parliament House for 13 years and during that time she made a good political nexus.
