Army win POF Board Indoor Basketball Tournament

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army defeated Pakistan Air Force 71-45 in the final to win the 1st All Pakistan Chairman POF Board Indoor Basketball Tournament at POF Sports Complex, Wah Cantt on Tuesday. Pakistan WAPDA clinched third position after defeating Lahore Division 72-66. Lt Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI (M), POF Board Chairman, was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.

Earlier, the POF Sports Control Board Secretary, Asad Durrani, in his welcome address said that the POF Sports Control Board, under the patronage of Lt Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat and guidance of POF Sports Control Board President Dr Amir Murad, was holding various sport events of national and international level at POF Wah regularly. “This endeavour of POF Sports Control Board will not only improve the soft image of Pakistan at international level but also be helpful in hunting new talent.” He further said that 16 teams from all over the country participated in the tournament. Pakistan Air Force, WAPDA Pakistan Army and Lahore qualified for the semifinals. A large number of basketball lovers and players witnessed the concluding ceremony.
