Tribesmen protest against forced takeover of private property

Residents of Khuga Khel tribe initiated protest demonstration against forcibly hold of their private property in Torkham on Tuesday.

Scores of families’ members of Gul Haider and Ambar Gul of Khuga Khel tribe including children while carrying placards inscribed with slogans in favor of their demands marched towards Landi Kotal press club. The protestors chanted full-throat slogans against National Logistic Cell (NLC) Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), district administration and the security forces that allegedly grabbed their private property by force on Monday night.

Speaking on the occasion those who led the demo Haji Abdurrahim,Noor Akbar and others said that beside court stay order, last night officials of FBR and NLC looted and demolished their scale(Kanta),petrol pump, shops, buildings etc. constructed at their private property. They accused that the mal-practice was carried out under the assistance and security of district administration and security forces.

The FBR and NLC through local officials deprived them of income sources, which provided three times meals to their families they lamented. They threatened that if their property was not free immediately and their looted valuables were not returned, they would initiate indefinite protest and would block Pak-Afghan highway for all kind of movement.
