RIO DE JANEIRO: Desi viewers clued into the ongoing Rio Olympics on August 15 were in for a surprise when synchronised swimmers, Karem Achach and Nuria Diosdado, arrived for their routine.
Dressed in sequined swimsuits, the 25-year-old Mexicans bust out stunning upside-down splits, ballet, underwater swirls in their 2.20-minute routine.
The song they’d chosen was “Aila Re Aila”, which featured in Priyadarshan’s Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan-starrer 2010 dramedy, Khatta Meetha, and was sung by Daler Mehndi (left).
The girls earned an impressive 170.6601 points for their performance and for managing to keep up with the fast-paced number.
