Sindh govt steps in to save culture, traditions, music of province

MITHI: Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism, Sardar Ali Shah has said Sindh government would now leave no stone unturned to save the rich culture and traditions culture and music of Sindh particularly in Thar, which he said, has been centre of rich.

After distributing the awards among the winning photographers of Photo Walk event organised by Humans of Tharparkar at Mithi, Shah praised Satish Malani and engineer Rahul Prem for organising the event to explore beauty and culture of Thar and captured them in their cameras.

Pappu Kotak, Sagar Sharma and Sagar Gopang got awards for their excellent photography where 27 others were given the certificates

Youngsters like Satish Malani and Rahul Prem would be engaged in such activities in other areas by the culture department of Sindh, minister added.

Shah observed Thar had always hit the headlines across the globe due to the droughts and the subsequent deaths of the newborns but such activities would also show the world the other side of the beautiful desert. The minister said he was himself in the direct contacts ailing poets, writers, artists to give them the stipends from the funds of his Ministry.

He said despite the fact modernity had crept into yet he believed there was no threat to cultural norms of Sindh including Thar. “I always feel solace in the natural beauty and music of Thar”, said. Shah.

He said party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was keen to promote the culture of areas like Thar to the international level.

He announced to build up the music academy after the name the known late Sadiq Fakeer adding ancient temples of Jains and Hindus and the historical mosque Bhodesar would be renovated soon and made the tourism spots with all necessary facilities.

Thar Festival would soon be organised in Mithi and the unpublished work of the known writers from would be published by his department.

ADC Mithi, Nisar Ahmed Memon said there was a dire need of such photo walks in the region adding he announced to help the members of Humans of Tharparkar in their endeavors to highlight the issues of the area.

Bharu Mal Armani, Partab Shivani, Khalil Kumbhar, Kirshan Sharma and others also spoke on the occasion.
