ISLAMABAD: The State Minister for CADD, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, has told the National Assembly (NA) that Islamabad was earlier facing shortage of science teachers due to the ban on recruitment of teachers and now the ban has been lifted by the PM and the recruitment process of teachers will be started soon.

He said this while giving answers to questions from law makers in the NA during question hour on Wednesday. He said that “it would be our endeavour that daily wages’ teachers are given priority in new appointments”.

He told the House that a considerable increase was made in the fees at colleges during the previous years and this process of enhancement in fees had been stopped due to initiation of action by the government.

If any injustice was being done to students in any college in Islamabad in this regard then an inquiry would be held and action would be taken against the persons found responsible. He said that services of psychiatrists had been hired for administering treatment to special children. There was a quota for special persons under which they were provided jobs.

He stated that work on liver transplantation was started during former PM Yousuf Raza Gilani and “we are doing more work on this count and soon liver transplantation process would start”.

“We are trying that one or two floors are built for car parking in new buildings and this way two car parking plazas have been built at Jinnah Super. Not an inch of state land has been allotted to any illegal plaza in Islamabad”.

Federal Minister, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, told the House that Baitul Mall and the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) had their separate systems. In BISP the survey was conducted by the department itself and later payment was made to them.

Education Minister, Balighur Rehman, said that a high level training was arranged for teachers in the HEC. In this regard the HEC budget had been enhanced considerably. Technical training was continuing which would be provided to 50000 children this year. He told the House that three more vocational secondary schools had been opened. Consultation was being made with provinces as well. A vocational training university would soon be set up in Islamabad. The feasibility report in this respect had been worked out.

The Parliamentary Secretary for Railways told the House that the railway system was being upgraded in the country.
