SUKKUR: The residents of Sukkur held a protest on Friday against the theft of two heavy generators belonging to the Water Works department.

Protesters told journalists that they had installed these two generators to end the shortage of water due constant power outages. They were getting easier access to water through the generators during breakdowns of electricity; but now they will have to face water shortage again since someone has stolen the generators.

Mayor Sukkur, Arsalan Shaikh approached the protesters to convince them to end their protest. He said that a case has been registered against suspected employees of the Water Works department at PSC section police station and soon the thieves would be identified. After that, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
