Disgruntled PTI MPAs set to launch drive against CM

PESHAWAR: Disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) lawmakers have called a meeting in Peshawar on Friday (today) to launch a rebellion movement against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister and the schedule of workers conventions, across the province.

Following PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s 13-point reform agenda, for bringing about real change in KP province, the disgruntled lawmakers committed to plan the PTI workers conventions district wise and announce a rebellion against the victimisation of PTI lawmakers by Pervez Khattak.

Talking to Daily Times a disgruntled lawmaker wishing not to be named, confirmed that the meeting had been scheduled at the residence of PTI Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Kheyal Zaman Bangash, on Friday in Hayatabad, Peshawar.

The lawmaker blamed KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak for victimisation of lawmakers and deducting their developmental funds and other privileges. The disgruntled lawmaker’s representative shared that the PTI members were fed up with Pervaz Khattak’s discriminatory behaviors and they have decided the move under a great compulsion.

“Disgruntled lawmakers will keep striving until and unless the CM gets replaced by the party chief Imran” he added. He shared that KP CM Khattak had been sidelining PTI Chief Imran Khan in several matters, through a well planned scheme and alleged that some of the KP ministers’ slots, along with Khattak, were also involved in fund embezzlements and nepotism.

The lawmaker said that corruption was at its peak in different departments of the province while Khattak and his team ignored these departments’ corruption under a pre-planned scheme. The lawmaker accused the CM that the funds of the entire province were being spent on four districts, including Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi and Dir.

He said, “at today’s meeting they would plan the upcoming strategy against the CM and will inform the PTI Chairman regarding the CM’s corruption”.

He said that the meeting would start at 3 pm on Friday while MNAs, Khyal Zaman Bangash, Dawar Kundi, Amirullah Marwat, Sajid Nawaz and Junaid Akbar, MPAs Yasin Khalil, Qurban Ali, Babar Saleem, Jamsheed Mohmand, Shakeel Ahmad and PTI workers of different districts would participate.

It is pertinent to mention here, that the disgruntled lawmakers of the PTI have for so shown reservations over party chief Imran Khan’s ignorant behaviour and threatened to take further measures if their grievances were not addressed soon.

Imran chaired a meeting on July 25 at Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House, Islamabad, and it was attended by several leaders, including KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.

However, some lawmakers, who expected to meet the PTI chairperson personally to discuss their grievances, were sidelined by the party as Imran failed to meet them.

However, the disgruntled lawmakers joined the PTI Tehreek-e-Ehtisab rally on August 7 and raised their voice against corruption in the country.

They hoped that the PTI Chief Imran Khan, would turn its attention toward them but once again Khan sidelined them and at last they were compelled to launch the movement against KP CM, Pervez Khattak.
