RAWALPINDI: Police claimed to have foiled a terrorist plot to target a grid station in Rawalpindi on Friday.
Unidentified terrorists wanted to target a grid station located on Chak Baili Road. However, police foiled their attempt. The terrorists fled the scene. The police reached the area on information and seized three hand grenades and explosives.
Later, the Bomb Disposal Squad reached spot and defused the explosives. Police said they had started a search operation to find the culprits. However, no arrest has been made so far. Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi Police has drawn a plan to provide security on Eid ul Fitr.
According to details, security in Rawalpindi city has been beefed up. Under the security arrangements, policemen have been deployed on duty for protection of faithful during taraveeh prayers.
On the other hand, a ban has been imposed on the transfer of police officers during this time.
