LAHORE: 400,000 fake soft-drink bottles were seized by Punjab Food Authority (PFA) from a factory in Lahore’s Sohdra area earlier today.
The factory is located on Bara Deri Road; it had sold about 3.37 million fake soft-drink bottles of a well-known brand, according to Director General PFA Noor ul Amin Mengal.
The factory owner threatened the PFA team and then opened fire on them but they managed to escape under the cover of the fire, statement by Mengal.
PFA team has registered the case against the suspects and also seized the factory records.
Earlier on Tuesday, PFA raided a factory using expired ingredients to produce popular soft drinks.
“Shandy Cola’s production unit was sealed following the raid,” PFA Director Operations Rafia Haider said.
Numerous filled bottles and raw material for 400,000 bottles was seized from the factory, located on Lahore’s Sheikhupura road.
