Drive against people on blacklist beefed up at country’s airports

ISLAMABAD: Following the arrest of black listed US national Matthew Barrett, campaign has been stepped up against the black listed persons on all airports of the country under the orders of interior ministry.

Another black listed person Sajid was arrested at Benazir Bhutto International Airport for attempting to go outside the country. He hails from Attock and was nabbed when he was trying to fly to United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Islamabad.

Sajid Mehmood son of Muhammad Fazil Virk was going to UAE by NLA-221 flight. When his documents were checked by airport authorities at the Airport, his name was found in black list and was arrested.

A 12 years old boy Daniyal has also been apprehended at Lahore Airport for being on blacklist. Daniyal was going to Dubai along with his parents.

It is irony of fate that his name was placed in blacklist under the orders of court a few years back due to rift between his mother and father. The court had issued orders for placing his name in blacklist so that no one among his father and mother could take him to foreign country. Later his parents reached reconciliation but his name was not struck off from the black list.

Parents of Daniyal showed the papers on compromise reached between them to the airport security authorities on Saturday and then on personal surety, Daniyal was allowed to go along with his parents abroad.
