KARACHI: Provincial minister for education, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, visited the Program Management and Implementation Unit of USAID funded Sindh Basic Education Program, at Clifton Karachi and presided over a review meeting.
The meeting was attended by the representative Rendy of USAID Karachi. The minister was briefed by the Program Director Rafique Burro over the goals and objectives of the program; update on the progress on various components of the program was highlighted.
Various challenges of the program were also discussed. The minister stressed upon the need to maintain the highest quality in school construction and to give special attention to teacher trainings and enhancing the literacy standards in targeted districts of Sindh.
The minister also requested USAID to expand this educational program in other districts of Sindh. USAID representative thanked the Government of Sindh for its high ownership and smooth execution of the program activities, and promised to consider the request for additional funds.
