Misguiding movement

Author:

Sir: Education is the base for development, and a teacher holds the key in this regard. In Sindh, the biometric system for attendance in schools has been able to decrease the number of ghost teachers.

Now the teacher is forced to be in school whether he is willing to or not otherwise monitoring officers (MOs), recently enrolled and employed through National Testing Service (NTS), would immediately send the biometric record to the secretary of Sindh who will handle the matter. These steps on the part of Sindh government to improve the transparency are admirable.

Regrettably, rather than doing their duties diligently, some ghost teachers have started a campaign to malign the monitoring officers. Press, despite knowing the truth has published some news degrading the MOs. The blame game will only hurt the education system and is of no good use.

Therefore, I would request the authorities to take action against the people threatening the officers.
