RAWALPINDI: Since the launch of Khyber 3 operation, which commenced last week, a total of 40 terrorists have been killed with 21 injured, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Monday.

In the treacherous terrain of Rajgal, 43 terrorist hideouts were destroyed through ground and aerial operations since start of operation. Security forces have also occupied passes and are now consolidating their positions up in high mountains in Rajgal. Earlier today, a huge cache of arms and ammunition including Improvised Explosive Device’s (IED) were recovered during the search in Damo Drub.

The army launched air and ground operations in the Rajgal valley, about 90km (60 miles) west of the city of Peshawar, last week, which is the latest leg of an offensive against TTP and its allies that began in 2014. Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan has cornered some groups into small pockets of territory, while others have fled over the border into the lawless region of eastern Afghanistan.
