Fact Check: PM appoints Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband as DG Hajj

A piece of information is circulating on social media platforms that Prime Minister Imran Khan has allegedly appointed Khawar Manika, the ex-husband of First Girl Bushra Bibi, as the Director of Hajj.

However, the spokesman of the Ministry of Spiritual Affairs, Imran Siddiqui has categorically denied it.

The Secretary Affairs of the Ministry of Spiritual Affairs mentioned that no such notification has been dispatched to the Prime Minister by the Ministry and no such position is vacant with us. The Director Hajj and Madinah are serving on their posts whereas the DG Hajj Are additionally performing their obligations, their appointment has been in accordance with the process.

The Secretary mentioned that ten individuals are interviewed for the position of Director, out of which the names of the top three are forwarded to the Prime Minister for final decision.
