Sindh’s Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Irum Azeem Farooqui resigned from her seat as well as the membership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) after listening to Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan statement.

Irum Farooqui said that she believed in ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (Long Live Pakistan) contrary to Altaf Hussain’s ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ (Death to Pakistan).

In her message on social networking website Twitter, Irum said that she had decided to resign two days earlier but didn’t announce due to the hunger strike.

She added that she felt ashamed after watching the video of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain. Irum Farooqui announced her resignation from MPA seat in Sindh Assembly and MQM’s membership.

Appealing MQM workers not to take the law into their hands, she said that violence was the solution to nothing. She also condemned attack on private TV channels by party workers.
