Father of a student who reads in 8th grade in school in Landi Kotal has demanded of the education department to implement corporal punishment ban policy in latter and spirit in private education institutions.
Talking to media persons during a presser held here in Landi Kotal press club on Thursday, Malik Sameen Afridi said that his son Farooq Afridi, a student in a private school in Sultan Khel area of Landi Kotal had brutally been beaten by his class teacher Mr Saim Afridi for not solving the class test which made him temporary disable.
Because of the allegedly harsh torture, aggrieved father said his son has received inside wounds in his left leg. He further said after the incident my son had gone under two major surgeries but despite that he is unable to walk now. He further said that the effected family repeatedly informed of the school management of their grievance but in vain, Afridi added.
Flanked by his physically effected son, he demanded departmental action against the alleged teacher, who beside ban on physical penalty on students perpetrated the crime.
The owner of the school Haji Iqbal Afridi did not reply till filing of the story after being contacted for his comments over the matter. It is to be mentioned here that education department has imposed ban on corporal punishment in government and private education institutions across the district.
