PESHAWAR: The activists of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Youth Wing on Tuesday hold a protest demonstration against the furious statement of Muhtahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain against Pakistan.
The participants of the demonstration demanded of the government to bring back the MQM chief to Pakistan and hang him publicly for such harsh statements he made against Pakistan.
The annoyed agitators gathered at Sher Shah Suri Road outside Peshawar Press Club and shouted slogans against the MQM. Carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans, they also burnt the effigy of Altaf Hussain.
Hafiz Hameed Ullah, President JI District Youth Wing, Farooq Khan Khalil, JI Town-III President, Siddiq Paracha, General Secretary, Haji Sher Zaman and Haji Khan led the protesting demonstration. Talking to reporters they said that the statement of the MQM chief was against the solidarity and integrity of Pakistan which was condemnable and those who issued such kind of statements must be given exemplary punishment as the anti- state elements learn lesson and stop using such statements in future.
They added that they would not allow anyone to use anti Pakistan statements and would never compromise on the dignity and honour of the country. They also said that they would render any sacrifice for the solidarity and integrity of Pakistan and would foil conspiracies against the country.
Meanwhile, earlier members of Peoples’ Youth Organizing (PYO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter staged a protest demonstration against the MQM chief at Sher Shah Suri Road opposite Cantonment Railway Station. They were led by Sajjad Hanif, acting chairman of the PYO, Sajid Ali Khan, press secretary, Masbah-ud-Din, former candidate of NA-4 of PPP and Essa Khan.
They said that a separate policy should be made for Indian refugees living in economic hub of Pakistan to repatriate them to India as made for the Afghan refugees. They added the MQM chief’s statement was unpardonable and he (Altaf) should be hanged publically.
