Summer Fashion Fest ’17 takes place in Lahore for all Eid shoppers

LAHORE: Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) Fashion Active brought together a number of renowned as well as budding designers’ Eid collections under the same roof titled Summer Fashion Fest ’17, where everyone showcased their ready-to-wear prêt, luxury prêt and formal dresses at Mall 1, Gulberg.

As many as 17 designers participated and displayed their latest trendy, unique and inimitable variety of attires. Hira Ali Studio, Karma Pink, Ivy, Maryam Amin Shafaat, Up Town by Anila and Saliha Shah, Misha Tiwana, Ayesha Mumtaz, Dhaani Couture, Shan-e-Alam, Lure by Rimsha Altaf, Base Line by Faiza, En Rouge, Fort’e by Anam Maqbool, Khazina by Aruba’s and Farah & Fatima displayed their collections.

Celebrities, models and people from different walks of life attended the event.

The PFDC Fashion Active is a brand new platform that was introduced by the PFDC. PFDC Fashion Active is whereby a one of its kind specialised and dedicated space for fashion showcases, trunk shows and exhibitions all year round.

Contemporary fashion designer Hira Ali, while talking exclusively with Daily Times said that she had displayed eight-10 latest ready-to-wear designs of kaftans and jackets using mostly pure silk. She said that her collection was inspired by a lot of different things like abstract motifs and cross culture motifs to create new designs and merge mystical creatures with floral designs. Most of the designs were contemporary and minimal while she chose solid colours mostly. Her clothes ranged between Rs 5,000 – Rs 20,000.

Shan-e-Alam was one of the only brands, which displayed a menswear collection that was titled Annayat. Shan-e-Alam’s Owner and designer Sheikh Usama, also while talking exclusively with Daily Times said, “I’ve used light and dark embroidery in this new collection. Ten denim waistcoat designs and four designs of kurtas have been displayed while my prices range between Rs 3,250 up till Rs 6,250.

PFDC Fashion Active was a two-day colourful activity for citizens in connection with the upcoming Eid. PFDC Fashion Active has provided a platform to designers especially the young and talented newcomer designers to exhibit their Eid collection.

Base Line by Faiza’s brand owner said that the collection was inspired by wildflowers and the chikkan fabric was used considering the summer season. She had used pearls and other items for embellishments as well as fresh colours used. Sixteen separate designs of kurtas and four-five luxury formal dresses were put on display for the shoppers.
