MQM local leader resigns in Chitral

Author: Staff Report

CHITRAL: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) district in-charge and member provincial coordination committee Abdul Rehman resigned from his position and the party on Wednesday.

His resignation came in response to the anti-Pakistan statement by MQM founder Altaf Hussain last Monday.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that the anti-Pakistan outburst, use of indecent language against state institutions and attack on media houses were the reasons of his resignation from the party’s basic membership.

He said he cannot remain associated with the party after the MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s anti-state remarks. He said that it has become a precedent that Altaf Hussain issues anti-state remarks and tender apology the other day.

He said that the statement hurt the feelings of the people and the apology was unacceptable.
