Promotions in FBR: ignored inspectors of Inland Revenue look at IHC for relief

The 131 inspectors of Inland Revenue, who were ignored by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) during the promotions on March 20, 2020, are now looking at the Islamabad High Court where the matter is now pending.

The inspectors from four provinces who have become parties in the writ petitions filed in the Islamabad High Court by Muhammad Shabbir Bhatta Advocate and other advocates have taken the position that their rights have been disregarded by ignoring the service rules of promotions in the department. The apex court should provide justice to them. The Islamabad High Court will hear the case on May 20th. The dream will remain unfulfilled of those inspectors who are about to retire in coming months.

According to details, 131 inspectors posted in various RTOs across the country have been ignored as stated by them while FBR made promotions of the Inspectors Inland Revenue to the rank of Inland Officers. According to the petitioners, service rules and seniority is ignored while making the decision by the high command.

The inspectors who became party in the writ petition are Sabir Ali, Mohsin Nawaz, Imran Farman, Liaquat Hayat, Shoaib Butt, Jamal Nasir, Sajid Hussain, Muhammad Aslam Pervez, Shaukat Ali, Tariq Masood, Muhammad Shoaib, Sultan Ahmad Ranjha. Jalil Awan, Mohammad Nawaz Ghurki, Afzal Ghman, Mian Kamran, Malik Amir, Syed Naeem Abbas, Hassan Raza Khan, Malik Akram Khokhar and others.

The writ petition is filed against the Secretary Revenue Division, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Member Admin (FBR) and the Chief Management (FBR).

Case has been admitted in the Islamabad High Court for hearing and notices have been issued to the relevant officers of the department and a reply has been sought from them.

According to the petitioners promotions used to be made in the department as per service rules before but this time the relevant officials of FBR completely ignored the service rules. Inspectors have been deprived of the rights and this move will also affect the performance of the department and causing distress amongst employees.

The writ petition has requested the Islamabad High Court to ask FBR to promote those also who have been neglected.

Some of the main names of the Inspectors Inland Revenue who have not been promoted are Sabir Ali, Mohsin Nawaz, Imran Farman, Liaqat Hayat, Shoaib Butt, Jamal Abdul Nasir, Jalil Awan, Syed Naeem Abbas, Muhammad Nawaz Gharki, among others are the inspectors who have been ignored by the FBR during the development of Inland Revenue. Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmed, Naveed Ahmed Pinnu, Sheikh Shaukat, Malik Amir Riaz, Malik Amir Abdullah, Mohammad Afzal Ghman, Ali Asad, Abbas Ali Bhatti, Mrs Rizwana Amir, Mohammad Jahangir, Naeem Ahmed, Mohammad Saleem Latif, Faiz Ahmed, Syed Naeem Abbas ,Azeem Ahmad Qureshi, Mirza Amir, Muhammad Shoaib Butt, Aslam Pervez, Fida Hussain, Malik Akram Khokhar, Khalid Pervez, Abdul Ghafoor, Behzad Thaqleen, Imran Farman and others.
